-  Suitable for dogs and cats

- A medicated shampoo effective on dogs and cats for certain bacteria, fungi and yeast.

A medicated shampoo containing miconazole nitrate 20 g/L and chlorhexidine gluconate 20 g/L. For use on cats and dogs in the treatment of various skin infections including malassezia (yeast), fungi (ringworm) and a wide range of bacteria. It can also be used as a general shampoo to clean and condition coats.

  • A veterinary approved medicated germicidal shampoo
  • Removes potential skin allergens
  • Effective shampoo base with multifunctional surfactants and conditioners
  • Cleans and conditions coats
  • Perfume and colour free
  1. Wet your pet thoroughly with clean water.
  2. Apply Topizole Medicated Shampoo to several different areas and massage well into the coat. A sponge or cloth can assist lathering and increase penetration of the shampoo. 50 mL of Topizole Medicated Shampoo would be adequate to treat a 30 kg, medium hair length dog and 7-10 mL of Topizole Medicated Shampoo would be adequate for an adult cat.
  3. Ensure that Topizole Medicated Shampoo is applied around the lips, under the tail and between the toes as these areas can harbour causative organisms. A sponge or cloth will again be useful for this.
  4. Leave the shampoo on your pet for 10 minutes (which is hard for a cat but do your best!) then rinse off thoroughly with clean water. Avoid contact with the pet’s eyes and try to prevent your pet from licking or inhaling the shampoo lather.Do not use inside the pet’s ears.
  5. Repeat the shampooing twice weekly until symptoms abate, then weekly or as directed by your veterinary surgeon.Typically 8-12 weeks of twice weekly shampooing will be needed to control the condition then once weekly to prevent reoccurrence and maintain the normal skin microorganism balance.
